And instead of going straight back home from work (to put myself under my warm blanket with a soup & Netflix) I attended the Bloom & Wild Christmas wreath workshop at Caravan Bankside. Bloom and Wild is an online flower retailer that delivers flowers through your letterbox. The brand delivers now in the United Kingdom, France and Germany.
While I was waiting for the workshop to start I indulged myself with some Alejandro magno slicing chorizo, and the jamon & smoked san simon croquettes with saffron mayonnaise.
The workshop started with a complimentary cocktail. Then we were guided by Bloom & Wild lead florist Rachel. She was really friendly and helpful throughout the activity.
The workshop was really interesting with useful information to perfect my wreath decorating skills. We learned how to decorate our wreath using fresh foliages, dried oranges and glittering baubles.
The result is a lot better than the one I did last year.
In my wreath I used different foliage: Ozothamus Sussex silver, conifer and eucalyptus parvi. I then added the decorative bits: Scottish thistle, cinnamon stick, dried orange, ilex berries, lotus heads and for a small touch of luxury some birch sticks sprayed copper.
Next year I am planning to do a massive foliage shop in one of the flower market and I will up my game by building my own wreath and decorating it. So far it was too easy...the wreath was already made or I bought it ready-made.
Bloom & Wild are having more workshops in the following weeks, but they have been victims of their own success as they are already all sold out.
So keep an eye next year when they release the date and grab your ticket fast.
